Jacob's Ladder

This was reputed to be a "Sabbath toy" due to its biblical reference. According to some sources, the age of the Jacob's ladder dates from at least the 1830's.

The easiest action to do with the Jacob's ladder is to hold the string of blocks vertically and, by turning the top block down, start a cascade of successive blocks flipping over. With a bit of manuevering, it is possible to get two and sometimes a brief moment of three cascades in motion at the same time.

After mastering the cascading blocks, users can then start to make pictures. By laying the blocks on a flat surface and standing on edge, it is possible to use the flexibility of the joints to form various images as well as every letter of the alphabet.

The cost of Jacob's Ladder is $8.35
